Jefferson County Busted Mugshots is a private reference, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, pull an official booking record, or provide a record on an agency’s behalf. Contact the responsible government office directly for those services.
Official Jefferson County Record Contacts
Use the record type to choose the first call or request. The county has not published a verified standalone jail records-unit line, so the sheriff, jail, and county public-records routes serve different functions.

The county’s Public Records page links its request form and policy. Finance is the public-records request route, not a jail records desk. For a request involving a booking, identify the sheriff or jail as the likely custodian and ask that the request be forwarded if another agency holds the record.
- Current county custody or a jail booking: contact the Sheriff and Jail operational line at 865-471-6000. Ask whether the jail can confirm present custody and what information it needs.
- Arrest report: contact the arresting police department or sheriff agency. A city police report and a county jail intake can be separate records.
- County booking record or photograph: use the county public-records request route and identify the person, date range, arresting agency, and each record requested.
- Court disposition: use the Jefferson County court docket page for General Sessions Criminal or Circuit Criminal information, then contact the correct clerk or court for confirmation.
- Sentenced Tennessee custody or supervision: use the official Tennessee Felony Offender Information Lookup. It does not replace a Jefferson County jail check.
- Federal or immigration custody: use the Bureau of Prisons inmate locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator only for their respective custody systems.
The county policy applies a Tennessee-citizenship procedure to inspection and copy requests. It allows no-fee inspection during business hours when a record is available, while copying, labor, media, or vendor costs may apply. A response within seven business days can be a record, an estimate, a lawful denial or redaction explanation, or another status update. It is not a promise that a photograph will be released.
